Gaming Floor

Grand Villa Casino Edmonton covers over 60,000 square feet inside ICE District, right at pedway level with Rogers Place in downtown Edmonton. That spot is very deliberate - we sit in the middle of one of Alberta’s busiest entertainment areas, where Oilers games, concerts, and other big events run through the calendar. If you are already heading into the core, the casino is basically along your route.

Our gaming floor is organized into two main sections: slots and live table games. Slot play is available every day from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Table games start a little later at 2:00 p.m. and close at the same time. On the felt we offer Baccarat, Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Roulette - familiar formats that most guests are actually looking for, without specialty rules or unusual variants.

You do not need a reservation to come in and play. The floor operates all year, and our daily schedule often lines up with major events at Rogers Place, so the building can feel quite different on those nights.

Getting Here

We are located at 10204 104 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5J 0H6. If you are staying at one of the connected hotels or coming directly from Rogers Place, you can use the ICE District pedway network to reach us indoors from start to finish. In an Edmonton winter, that is more than a convenience, it is genuinely practical.

Before dropping by for the first time, it helps to sort out a few basics:

  1. Check current hours at grandvillacasinoedmonton.com or call 780-413-3178, in case operating times have been updated.
  2. Once inside ICE District, follow the signs to the pedway entrances that connect through to the casino level.
  3. Bring valid government-issued photo ID. Our security team may request it when you arrive.
  4. For on-site parking, Lot 404 is set aside for casino guests.
  5. For group visits or event-related questions, email [email protected].

One more thing to keep in mind: when Rogers Place is hosting a major event, the whole ICE District tends to be busier, from parking lots to elevators. Arriving a bit earlier than usual can take some pressure off your schedule, which is true for us and for most venues in this complex.

Dining and Bars

Food and drinks are a core part of the experience here, not a side note. Inside the property we run several different concepts, so you can pick what fits your visit that day.

Match Eatery and Public House is our sports bar and casual dining spot, open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. It is where a lot of guests settle in to watch a game with a meal. Atlas Steak and Fish offers a sit-down environment with a focus on steak and seafood, more suited to a longer dinner. Centro Bar operates until 2:00 a.m., and naturally becomes the late-night meeting point for many of our players.

For something quick, we have Starbucks, Sbarro, Vera’s Burger Shack, and Pinkberry on the property. Coffee between hands, a slice of pizza, a burger, frozen yogurt - the basics are covered without needing to leave the building or step outside.

The way the floor and restaurants are laid out, you can move between gaming, a meal, and a drink without breaking up your visit. A lot of guests come in, grab dinner, play for a while, then circle back for a nightcap. That pattern feels very natural in this space.

Gaming Floor at Grand Villa

Grand Villa Casino Edmonton spans over 60,000 square feet inside ICE District, connected directly to Rogers Place via the pedway level. The gaming floor is divided into two main areas: slot machines and live table games. Slots are available daily from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., giving guests a wide window for play throughout the day. Table games open at 2:00 p.m. and run until 3:00 a.m., covering formats including Baccarat, Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Roulette. The venue operates year-round, and its schedule often aligns with major events at Rogers Place, which can affect the atmosphere on busy nights. Owned and operated by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited, the property opened in 2016 following a capital investment of approximately $32 million. No reservation is required to access the gaming floor, and the location at 10204 104 Avenue NW makes it reachable on foot from connected downtown hotels and the arena.

Background on the Property

Grand Villa Casino Edmonton is owned and run by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited, which operates several casino properties across Canada. This location was announced in April 2015 as part of what was then called the Edmonton Arena District, now known as ICE District. The build represented an estimated capital investment of $32 million CAD.

Construction took place through 2015 and 2016, with Katz Group acting as development partner and Clark Builders as the general contractor. On the Alberta Major Projects registry, the finished casino is listed under Tourism and Recreation. During planning, Gateway anticipated up to 200 permanent roles on site and approximately 450 person-years of employment during the construction phase.

We operate under Alberta’s provincial rules for gaming, with oversight by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). Travel Alberta includes us in its downtown Edmonton listings as part of the local tourism offering. It is a fully regulated venue, with the usual reporting and compliance processes that come with that.

Events and Entertainment

Beyond the core gaming floor and restaurants, we regularly host live music and various promotions. Slot tournaments with prize pools appear from time to time, and it is usually better to know about those in advance instead of hearing about them as you are on your way out.

To keep up with what is scheduled:

  1. Follow @grandvillayeg on Instagram, where we tend to share event updates first.
  2. Check facebook.com/GrandVillaCasinoYEG for posts, photos, and to confirm details like address.
  3. Visit grandvillacasinoedmonton.com for any posted event calendar or current promotions.
  4. Call 780-413-3178 if you prefer to ask staff directly what is coming up.

When there is a major concert, playoff game, or similar event at Rogers Place, ICE District fills up quickly. Our traffic reflects that. On those nights, the casino has a different energy level - some guests look for that buzz, while others prefer a quieter visit on non-event days. It is worth factoring that into your own plans.

You do not need to book ahead for regular access to the gaming floor. If you are organizing a larger group, it is better to reach out by email in advance so we can help with basic arrangements. We are open throughout the year, and our location in ICE District keeps Grand Villa Casino Edmonton one of the more accessible casino properties in Alberta - with gaming, dining, and live entertainment linked together in the centre of downtown.
